Welcome

Welcome. I’m so glad you stopped by. I’ve been wanting to create a website for quite some time, but it’s a lot of work and I’ve been busy writing a novel. Now that the novel is written, revised and revised many more times, I’m shopping for an agent/publisher and have the ability to design a site.

A little about me. I’m a writer. Yes, although I’m not yet published, I’m a writer. I dream about stories and characters and time to write them all down. And I dream about seeing my books in book stores.

I’m a photographer. I believe there is beauty all around us, we just need to take the time to find it. A few years ago, I challenged myself to take at least one good photo a day, something different each day. It’s helped me to see the world differently. My favorite tag is #lookforbeauty

I’m a recovering lawyer. Please don’t hold that against me. I spent too many years of my life trapped in a practice that made me miserable. Now I’m underemployed and far happier. Of course, when I finally either (a) get published and/or (b) win the lottery, I suspect I’ll be even happier.

I love to travel. To see new places, meet new people and see new things. I do most of my traveling solo, although lately I’ve been doing a lot of cruising. I have a couple of cruise friends who I’ve traveled with as a pack and that’s been fun.

I’ve never been married, never had kids, never even managed to keep a plant alive. I have instead, written books, traveled to more than 20 countries, owned and managed a law practice, chaired a successful congressional campaign that defeated an incumbent, worked for homeless shelters and soup kitchens, worked to increase the number of women holding elected office, seen James Taylor live more than thirty times (yes, I’m a JT nerd), read hundreds of books, moved from NY to NC, cared for my Mom who has dementia (she’s now in an awesome memory care facility), seen my nieces and nephew grow to be awesome adults, work full time, talk to my dad daily and live a reasonably contented life. And now I’m working on this website.

Life is too short. I want to make the most of it. I’m aiming to post once a week. I hope you’ll come by and check things out. And if you know of any agents or publishers who might be interested in a new writer, let me know!
